The Municipal Housing Complex of Russia International Exhibition became a place to present state-of-the-art samples of specialized machines, devices for cleaning and operation of urban streets, Russian-made controllers for automated systems and metering devices, pipes and hardscape elements, as well as digital technologies needed by the Russian municipal housing sector.
Smol Mash based nearby Moscow showcased their combined road vehicles intended for motor road maintenance during winter and summer. ‘Our vehicles use dump truck base and MAZ frame. For instance, at our stand you can see sand & salt sprinkling equipment designed for winter maintenance, and the front rotary plow with tripping-over protection installed on a low-level chassis and a dump truck. This combined machine is equipment with an automatic dosing system for anti-icing materials, which is convenient and helps saving matter to be sprinkled,’ the company representative announced. According to him, Smol Mash produces the entire range of detachable equipment intended for road cleaning and maintenance, including for salt and sand sprinkling, washing and watering (to be used in summer), frontal and central sweeping brushes, and brushes for fence and barrier washing during summer. At the stand arranged by St. Petersburg based company Mitrax, the audience were demonstrated the functions of Mitrax МП 749 mini loader. ‘This is a multi-functional loader that can be used for construction, urban improvement, landscape design, and warehousing operations As it is 4WD with a driver’s compartment, it can be operated throughout the year,’ explained Denis Smyslov, CTO of Mitrax. ‘We are demonstrating our basic machine here. It is Series 7, which can be aggregated with lots of attached devices depending on the specifics and area of application. Its output, speed, load capacity, and hydraulic gear parameters are much better than in other models. МП 749 is a perfect combo that benefits both from multifunctionality of large vehicles and medium dimensions. This is what makes it a powerful and indispensable assistant when it comes to road-building, landscaping, and loading works,’ the company’s official resumed. Moreover, Mr. Smyslov reported that today 120 pieces of such universal vehicles can be found in the streets of St. Petersburg, plus 300 their loaders are in use by the Russian regions.
D-ICE offers to order cleaning of urban and industrial premises with their sweeping and cleaning special vehicles, but they also provide it for rent. ‘We have our own hub of 12 vehicles on KaMAZ base with German engines. We clean cities, enterprises, and other premises,’ said Alexander Motoman, the company’s official. According to him, this is the company’s secondary area of focus.
‘Our vehicles are equipped with powerful vacuum cleaners, which are designed for collection of anti-icing agent remains in airports, after aircrafts are treated with it in winter. That’s why our vacuum cleaners are much more powerful than the ones used to clean the urban streets. They collect garbage and sweepings with the entire surface of the vehicle, while standard urban cleaning machines use a side nozzle only. Thus, our cleaning mode is both more cost-effective and eco-friendly,’ Mr. Motoman explained. Besides profession cleaning, the company also has got production assets to dispose wastes of the anti-icing agent and other waste products at its own production site. In particular, they dispose liquid household wastes from the airports associated with the Moscow aviation hub. Further, D-ICE has got competence and experience in laboratory research of fuel, oil, and lubricants, design of anti-icing agent warehouses, eco consulting, and forwarding services.
Up-to-date cleaning and maintenance of the traffic infrastructure is unthinkable without the use of specialized materials, like anti-icing agents, shampoos, and dust suppression compositions. Products of these groups were presented at the stand of the Ural Plant of Deicing Materials. ‘Today, we are the largest manufacturer of modern multi-component and highly eco-friendly anti-icing agents in Russia. We’ve brought to the exhibition our products that can be used for ice control and interseasonal road maintenance. For instance, here we’ve got Bionord shampoo that can be used to treat pavements in off-season time. Bionord Antidust can help with dust storms that can happen even in the magnificent St. Petersburg. Our most popular product is the environmentally friendly anti-icing agent,’ Dmitry Zaynichkovsky described and demonstrated the assortment of goods offered for sale by the Ural Plant of Deicing Materials Trade House, which is part of Ural Plant of Deicing Materials. ‘Moreover, we also have products for retail sales, the ones intended for private homesteads and managing companies,’ he added. Mr. Zaynichkovsky highlighted that their products include corrosion-proof additives which reduce the adverse effects of the traffic infrastructure on metal structures, whereas their bio-friendly components diminish the products’ impact on the softscape, leather shoes, and paws of the citizens’ pets. ‘Our materials have been literally used in every million city of Russia, and this year St. Petersburg has acquired a small batch for testing, which has been used in its central streets,’ the company’s official announced.
According to Dmitry Zaynichkovsky, the factory is capable of 1 mln tons of products a year. Their materials have been assigned the 4th hazard class, which is low-hazardous, and are accompanied with the full set of permitting documents, including the positive conclusion of the State Environmental Expertise of Russia. It means the materials can be used anywhere throughout the country, even at specially protected natural lands.
Tatneft Presscomposite, which is part of Tatneft JSC, exhibited composite hot water supply pipes, manholes, benches, and other hardscape elements based on glass fibre, polyester resins, and mineral fillers. The company has been working in the composite market for 12+ years. ‘I can say that such pipes can withstand the hot water temperature up to 130 °C. Besides, composite products are more durable than the metal ones, and their life reaches up to 30 years. Composite materials aren’t corrodible, so they can be used in wet and aggressive environments,’ mentioned Marina Kurbangaleeva, Head of Quality at Tatneft Presscomposite. In particular, composite pipes are used at industrial sites, whereas hardscape elements are normally installed in the gardens, parks, and at playgrounds.
By the way, hardscape pieces demonstrate how important the aesthetical aspect of today’s municipal housing sphere is, and in case with urban beautification it also brings the ecological issue into focus. Event company from Belarus presented their goods produced for urban improvement. Since 2006, they’ve been manufacturing polymer goods for outdoor greening, including vases, flowerpots, bins, and sand & salt crates. ‘Our plastic goods withstand temperatures from minus 50 to plus 60°C. As we add UV stabilizing agents to the polymer feedstock, the colors don’t fade in the sun during the operation life,’ explained Yana Zaletilova, Head of Marketing. ‘Our goods help with urban greening and beautification. Take the large vases for trees, ornamental bushes and flowers. They can be used to add green plants to the locations within the city where no open ground is available for planting.’ According to Yana, products by Event have long been known in the market of Belarus, but at the moment the company is expanding its geographic presence by getting to the Russian market.
